About

Stefanie Wagner is dedicated to understanding the deeper motivations of each client to provide true added value. She studied law in Regensburg with a focus on tax law and worked at the Chair of Public Law, Finance, and Tax Law under Prof. Dr. Rolf Eckhoff during her legal clerkship. After starting her career at Linklaters in Munich in 2008, she gained experience at specialized boutique law firms and O&R Oppenhoff & Rädler before joining Dr. Maren Gräfe’s team at the beginning of 2024.

Stefanie’s passion lies in tailoring comprehensive solutions that address both legal and tax considerations. By probing beneath the surface, she helps families, entrepreneurs, and family offices craft strategies that integrate all relevant aspects of wealth succession, tax structuring, and corporate law. Her commitment to innovative concepts, coupled with the collaborative environment at GRÄFE Tax & Legal, ensures that her clients benefit from exceptional expertise and a personalized approach.

  • Entrepreneurial family with SFO and operating company (enterprise value greater than EUR 4bn. Pure private assets greater than EUR 70 million:  
  • Preparation of emergency documents (entrepreneur's will, powers of attorney, living wills).
  • Supporting the family (in cooperation with the family officer and the current tax advisor) to avoid a large-scale inheritance tax acquisition in the event of death.  
  • Preventive testamentary provisions and planning and implementation of the shielding of private assets and PE / VC shareholdings.
  • Establishment of a German family foundation as a new holding company and single family office level. Establishment of family-orientated governance  
  • Property law considerations in the family circle.
  • Consideration of the gradual transfer of shares in the operating company in an inheritance tax-friendly manner, if necessary with usufruct constructs.  
  • Analysis of exemption in accordance with Sections 13a/b ErbStG and valuation, if necessary, structural accounting measures to improve the starting position.
